Education For Street/EWS Children
Lotus Charitable Trust has been running regular classes only for these children at its centres in the schools completely free of any charges.
For the millions of children who live in the street, education is the most effective method of reintegration into society. LCT's work in this field has the two-fold objective of developing basic education for street children and of preventing children in difficulties from ending up on the streets.
Providing free education with emphasis on moral upliftment
We are imparting free education to poor and deprived children.
Besides Education, we provide them free books and all sort of writing material, uniforms, shoes, socks & sweaters etc. We are giving free computer education also. Running literacy classes for adult women mostly working as domestic help.
Special emphasis on education for girl child
More emphasis has been given for the education of the girl child and every Saturday has been kept as an activity day during which emphasis is being given on moral education and extracurricular activities.
These schools run in the afternoon i.e. from 3.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. Because in the morning the school owners run their own classes and all of them have provided entire school infrastructure free of cost to the society except teachers who has been employed by our society (Lotus Charitable Trust).
Our Society has been able to provide benefit to a large number of poor sections of the society. Starting from 15 poor children the strength of students (beneficiaries) have gone up. Classes are being held from nursery to tenth.
Parents Teachers Meeting
Parents meet is also being held every month wherein our teachers and one of the doctors In-charge of Dispensary hold educative discussions on topics like maintenance of cleanliness, sanitation, general health, family planning, precautions against AIDS, evil effects of drinking and smoking along with overall importance of education.
